Connecting Brimmer Park, Teacher’s Park, and Bathing Beach Park, the River Walk Parks in Independence feature a concrete trail along the Wapsipinicon River. This park area offers river access, a boat dock, memorial benches, beautiful river scenery, and nostalgic lighting. Amenities include open-air picnic shelters, a community band shell, a playground, open green spaces, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe courts, a basketball court, and a 9-hole disc golf course added in 2014. As the host site for several city-wide celebrations and events, the River Walk Parks and Trail are a vital part of the Independence City Trails system.
